Getting Started
Insights Welcome
The one-shot post-backfill report. Patterns, KPIs, and what to act on first.
Insights Welcome is the one-shot report that runs the moment your initial backfill finishes. It’s your “here’s what RefundSentry already learned about your shop” moment — the page where you decide whether the engine’s findings match your gut, and what to do about it.
Hero KPIs
- Orders reviewed— How many orders were scored during backfill.
- Refunds analysed— The historical refund volume, including refund-only events with no native return.
- Potential savings— A conservative estimate of the dollars you would have saved had RefundSentry been live across the backfill window.
- High-risk customers identified— The number of unique customers who scored HIGH at least once.
Headline finding
A single plain-English sentence describing the most important pattern we found — e.g. “Wardrobing in dress categories accounts for 18% of HIGH-risk returns” or “A fraud-ring of 7 customers shares 3 shipping addresses.” This is the line you should actually act on first.
Counterfactual card
If we can isolate a specific subset of refunds we’re confident would have been prevented by a clear policy change, this card spells out the “what if you had RefundSentry running” number with the math behind it. Skipped if the data is too thin to support a confident counterfactual.
Pattern grid
Up to six patterns we detected in the historical data — sizing-driven returns, repeat offenders, address clusters, etc. Each pattern card has a one-click drill-down into the relevant analytics surface.
Top customers table
The handful of customers who contributed disproportionately to your historical refund volume. Each row links to the customer profile so you can decide whether they belong on the watchlist or the blocklist.
Refund reason distribution
How your refund reasons broke down across the backfill window. The same data appears (with date-range filtering) on the Insights Reasons tab.
One-shot, not a live dashboard
Insights Welcome is a static snapshot of the backfill moment. We generate it once when backfill finishes and keep it around so you can revisit it later, but the numbers don’t update with new activity. For the live equivalent, use the Dashboard and the Insights hub.
Next steps
- Set up automations based on the headline finding.
- Tune your thresholdsif the zone distribution doesn’t match your tolerance.
